We are now able to offer two different upgrades to the analog stick modules:
Hall Effect sticks use magnets to detect stick movement, rather than physically touching parts. This means there is far less wear and tear and, in theory, they should not develop stick drift in their lifetime. (Although, we cannot guarantee it 100%, as the mechanism itself can still wear out over time or become damaged.)
There are also sticks using TMR technology, from a company called Gulikit. They work in a similar way to Hall Effects, but use a newer technology allowing for reportedly higher accuracy and lower power consumption.
Here are some of our installation videos:
Unfortunately, there currently aren’t any Hall Effect/TMR modules available on the market that will work properly with either the Series 1 or Series 2 Elite controllers. (And believe me… we’ve tried them all!)
The magnetic thumbsticks, the Hall Effect sensors for the triggers and the magnets in the rear shell for the paddles all interfere with the electromagnetic modules.
But don’t worry, as soon as a suitable solution comes along that meets our high quality standards, we will post about it here and on our YouTube channel!
